RIC Event

I attended a presentation on Japanese Americans and World War II. The slideshow was interesting with all the different pictures. Also, the guy speaking was very knowledgeable about the topic.

Family Photo

This picture is of my family on our vacation this past summer. It is important to me because it was my first vacation since my parents divorce. Not having my mom there with me was very different.
We were tired from a long day at the amusement park and decided to take a break and sit down on the bench. My neighbors had gone the same day as us and she said "let me take a picture this would make a good family picture". The photo focuses on the people that are in the picture rather than what is going on outside. Inside the picture is my dad, my two brothers, and me. It was a scorching hot day so we were in shorts, and a light colored shirt. Walking sneakers were a must. All of our hands are visible except my dads, he has them resting on the back of the bench. Our whole body's can be seen. My dad has sunglasses on the top of his head and there is a bag at his feet. In the background you can see fences, posts, rocks, some buildings, and trees. There is part of a flag pole towards the middle of the picture. If you look closely there are train tracks behind where we are sitting. The grass is green, the flowers are bloomed and the sun is gleaming down on the ground. We are all looking towards the left. My older brother and I are smiling while my dad and younger brother are half smiling.
The picture was taken so my family and I were the main focus. Outside of the picture there were many people walking. Roller coasters and a water park are all around us but not seen in the picture. Other benches were to the left and right of us. Some places to eat were in front of us. The train is not visible. The picture is cropped  leaving out the sky, the flag, and top half of trees.

It was lot's of fun
They are so bright like the sun
Creamy and delicious
Not very nutritious

Perspective

In class, we took pictures from different angles and points of view. Perspective changes the way I see myself. The picture looks different from different views. The picture to the left was taken straight on. The picture to the right was taken from a birds eye view. In the picture to the left, you can see my whole body. By the way my head is facing one may think I could be looking at something. You can only see half of my face and can see that I have a straight look on my face. In the picture to the right, it is taken from up above. You can only see the upper half of my body. You cannot really see my face because of the angle. By the way my arms and hands are positioned one may think I am concentrating on what is going on in front of me or I am tired and resting. As one can tell many things can be thought based on expression and body language. Each position and expression has its own meaning and therefore there will be different views based on what the individual thinks. Personally, I like my pictures taken straight on like the first one. I like being able to see expression and my whole body.
